Lisa LaCharité is a designer based in Sag Harbor, NY.

In Lisa’s twelve years of professional experience, she has acted as designer and project manager for a range of residential, institutional, installation, and graphic design projects.

Bates Masi Architects

Lisa was a designer at Bates Masi Architects from 2023-2024 and was the lead designer and project manager for an 8,500 square foot residential project in Amagansett, NY.

West Work

Lisa was an Associate at West Work from 2020-2023 and was the lead designer and project manager for a 600 square foot art studio in the Springs neighborhood of East Hampton, NY completed in March 2021. She was the designer for a renovation study for Haverhill Public Library in Massachusetts. Lisa and Katie Faulkner teamed with Placetailor to lead a study to uncover affordable, practical solutions for all-electric retrofits that can meet Massachusetts' 2050 net zero emissions goal resulting in the Fort Hill DER, awarded Runner-Up in the MASSCEC Triple Decker Challenge competition. Lisa worked on a multi-family passive house project in Boston, MA and renovations to the University of Massachusetts Boston Clark Athletic Center.

NADAAA

At NADAAA, Lisa was a designer for the Adams Street Branch of the Boston Public Library system. She led the 2017 Rhode Island School of Design’s Freshman Quad Master Plan Study with Nader Tehrani, Katie Faulkner, and Arthur Chang which resulted in the design for North Hall. She was a designer and a project manager for Villa Varoise, an award winning 6,000 square foot private residence in Ramatuelle, France. During the design and construction documentation phases of the project, she worked closely with the clients and consultants and helped lead the design in landscape, mechanical, and structural systems, and interior design. She also managed the interior design and FF&E for the Rock Creek House in Washington, DC, and assisted in its construction administration.

At the beginning of her career at NADAAA, Lisa was both a director of graphics and an architectural designer. She led the effort to create NADAAA’s graphic identity beginning in February 2011 and was in charge of NADAAA’s website, blog, in-house photography, and branding. Lisa continues to be involved in the management of NADAAA’s internal and external gallery exhibits, including the drawing created for the recent Tempietto Exemplum exhibit at the Yale School of Architecture, The Tectonic Grain exhibit at Georgia Tech, and Manifest Pedagogies at the University of Miami School of Architecture.

Studio Luz

Lisa took a one-year hiatus from NADAAA to join the team at Studio Luz in 2015. During her time there, she managed several residential projects including the Cotswald Residence and the renovation of the Acorns House at Wellesley College, a low budget renovation for Asian, Latina, and LGBTQ advising.

Teaching Experience

In 2021, Lisa led a Design Studio as a critic in Experimental + Foundation Studies at the Rhode Island School of Design. In Washington, DC, Lisa was an adjunct instructor at the Corcoran College of Art + Design in 2009 and 2010 (now called Corcoran School of the Arts & Design at George Washington University). In this role, she revised the intermediate and advanced digital graphics courses for interior design and exhibit design graduate students. In addition to her formal role as an instructor, Lisa served as a guest reviewer at many design schools, including MIT, RISD, Roger Williams, the Boston Architectural College, the University of Maryland, and Catholic University.
